Sheila García joined AES Puerto Rico in February 2020, as part of the Communities Relations team. 

Sheila thinks that community relations is key to the work and success of AES Puerto Rico. “To achieve our goals of creating sustainable, high impact social programs we work together not only with local leaders, but also with established organizations and our own corporate volunteers. This year, we formed a new alliance with the Red Cross to be able to support the island before, during and after emergencies.”  

It has been very rewarding for Sheila and the team to create a corporate volunteer program and see almost 50% of AES Puerto Rico´s people sign up. “Our people like to help, serve with love and support the community where we live. I am proud of the work we do forming deep and meaningful relationships with community members and I love serving as an open line of transparency and communication between the communities and our operations.”
